Water Immersion for Labour and Birth (WILB)
Online
The aim of this education package is to equip maternity care providers with contemporary, evidence-based information and skills to provide high-quality care for women considering water immersion for labour and/or birth.
This blended learning package is comprised of three online modules which will provide the foundational knowledge that you will then apply in the face-to-face workshop.
Module 1 – Introduction to water immersion for labour and birth
Module 2 – Labour and birth in water
Module 3 – Neonatal considerations and water immersion in the context of complexity
Each module takes approximately 80 minutes to complete, and the modules progress sequentially. Once you have completed all the modules, you will be able to navigate the course material freely.
Each module includes interactive learning material and concludes with an assessment.
Face-to-Face
This half day (4 hour) face to face workshop builds from the foundations laid within the online learning and provides participants the opportunity to apply/contextualise this knowledge within immersive simulations. The workshop is designed to be delivered within the purpose-built birthing simulation space (including plumbed birth pool) or as in-situ simulation within a birthing facility.
